Looking for an audiobook

Mrs. Turgeon loves audiobooks!  If you see her driving in her car and she is alone, there is a very good chance that she is listening to an audiobook. She really enjoys a good story even more when someone tells her that story.  Here are a few ways to access audiobooks.

Epic is a free website for educators that gives kids from Pre-K to 12 years old an opportunity to access books online.  On this website there are picture books and chapter books to read, there are read-to-me books where the books is read to the child or audiobooks as well.  As a Librarian you are able to set up an account and register children underneath of you.  I have been working at showing our students who would benefit from audiobooks how to access these books.

The RDPL has a fantastic selection of audiobooks that can be checked out for free.  It only requires a library membership and then to download the Overdrive App. Books are downloaded on to your device and can then be accessed even without wifi. Here is the link for the RDPL.

The last way that Mrs. Turgeon uses to listen to audiobooks is through Audible.ca.  The first book is free and then after that there is a monthly subscription charge of 14.95 per month that entitles you for 1 credit with each book being one credit.  More books can be purchased outside of the subscription as well and prices vary for each book.  Books are downloaded on to your device and after download can be accessed without wifi.
