Egg Drop

This was such a fun activity.  The students were challenged by their teacher to build a structure to protect an egg that they would drop from our second story in to the gathering area below.  They brought supplies from home and used materials that were available in the makerspace.  They needed to draw a design and list their supplies before they could begin building.  As challenges were  encountered with building their structure they needed to amend their initial design to show the changes.  The students were given about a week to design, build, and tweak their designs.  It was lots of fun to see their ideas come to fruition in their designs and also to watch as they worked through problems.
